"Combined Heat and Power CHP or Cogeneration as it is commonly referred to, is the simultaneous generation of usable heat and power (usually electricity) in a single process. In other words, it utilises the heat produced in electricity generation rather than releasing it wastefully into the atmosphere" |

Urbas have designed and manufactured over 100 top of the range wood biomass CHP power plants throughout Europe. An Urbas Boiler acts as the base unit for a CHP plant, the plant can be flexibly designed providing you with the energy outputs you require, whether it be: electricity, steam, heat or a combination of them all.
All core components fit together for the shared success, resulting in a perfectly designed and perfectly functioning wood biomass heat and power plant with an impressive electricity to heat ratio. Customers benefit from the professionalism of service teams across Europe including the UK and Ireland and other countries.
The "in house" designed control system of the plant uses RPS technologies and state-of-the-art visualisation programs. |

Urbas have revolutionised the use of steam turbines with a unique patented system for steam control that does not affect the life cycle of the turbine. This allows for the high efficiency and long life spans usually associated only with ORC turbines, to be achieved with a more cost effective steam turbine.
Urbas works with a range of leading turbine suppliers, the turbine used is tailored towards best performance targets of the plant.
ORC (Organic Rankine cycle) turbines are also available to the customer where appropriate. |
